It was not a family friendly place, not sure what to expect but I thought a Sports Grill in the suburbs would cater to the surround community. We went on a Saturday afternoon to watch the NCAA Basketball tournament. They only had one booster seat in the entire resturant, the problem was that we have 2 year old twins. They had to stand the entire time in the booth. The waitress was so unattentive and ahd absolutely no personality at all...She had to come back to our table to re-ask what we had ordered. She had to be waved down for refills on drinks and at the end of our meal she took a good 20 min to get back to us as we watched her doodle around at the bar. It was about 830pm and not quite busy yet. There were other staff on hand so it wasn't an understand type situation where they are running crazy and need a minute to service all tables. chicken strips tasted funny and the breading was too flour-y. The poblano burger was good except the bacon was undercooked. The chicken taco salad had rice in it - who does that? Despite being as attentive as possible, the bartender was the only server with about a dozen people at the bar and several other tables. Although the chips and fries were fresh cut, the chips were over-cooked (brown and dry) and the fries under-cooked (soggy). The food at Papa'G is some of the best by no means, the service is alwasy great. We use Papa Gs to watch dallas cowboys football on Saturday 12/17/2011 they decided the band would play at 9:00 so this prompted my party to leave It is a sports bar and as many Dallas Fans that were there you would think they could have put the band on hold until after the game. The certificate and gratuity charged were very misleading. I expected the 18% to be charged to the $35 of food. Not to the total bill which included alcohol and food. We were not greated when we walked in. Had to find someone who worked there to see if we sat ourselves or not. I had to get up and get my own silverware. I don't smoke....and as soon as I came in the place it was a stale smoke smell but no one had a cigarette lit, it was as if it was no windows open to air the place out some.....So that was the main thing that turned me off....other then that everything else was Okay....if your a smoker it would be great.......... 11/29/2011 4:13:59 PM
