Pier 7 has genuine service. You were never at a loss for attention. The food - FANTASTIC!!! I made a special request and the kitchen was very accommodating while the food was delicious. I was concerned that they show a 'service charge'which is actually a gratuity. I had added a 20% tip to the charge slip before I looked back at the actual bill and realized they'd already added an 18% tip. I loved the location, the atmosphere, the menu and anything else that goes with it, other than the waiter himself and the taste of the food. The waiter brought nothing positive (or negative) to the experience. At the very least, a smile would have helped. The service was good but there were limited drink options. The ambience was quiet and subdued. We were sat at a table with a nice view of the potomac and sunset for our Valentine's dinner. We had the seabass and the stuffed flounder which we enjoyed with the delightful french onion soup. Overall, it was a nice place for a relaxing dinner. 2/15/2013 7:22:50 PM
