Robata has the best sushi within an hour drive! The hibachi grill is always wonderful. We have the same chef most times and he is wonderful, sweet and very thoughtful. I have gluten issues and he makes all my food separately using gluten free soy. 6/8/2013 8:19:34 PM

The work dining experience in my 53 years! Made reservations, place was maybe 1/4 full, yet they seemed to have a difficult time seating us? Drink orders arrived in a timely manner, then we waited 20 min. to order, another 20 before the cook (hibachi) arrived. Put the rice on the grill, then cooked our meat, etc. then our noodles (after almost finishing our meats), then finally remembered the rice & finished frying that. Just as he was leaving our area, he realized he hadn't given my daughter her Sushi appetizer! The food was so salty that it literally burned my taste buds!!! I'm a salt-aholic...love the stuff; but, this was almost not edible. We did let the waiter know & he apologized...and, that was it. The waiter apparently has aspirations to be a comedian one day, but frankly it was a bit too much for us. When I excused myself to use the facilities, he took my cell phone! The people seated with us let me know - I didn't know what to do!!!! He returned it after about 10 minutes & said NOTHING! I couldn't wait to get out of there & will never go back & will tell everyone never to go there!!!!! 3/10/2013 8:01:38 AM

We ordered bento boxes and some additional sushi. The bento boxes were okay -- a little on the greasy side, but the sushi was outstanding. Hands down -- best sushi in the Valley. I would certainly go again and just order sushi. 3/1/2013 12:03:51 PM

It was an okay experience; we were there for 3 hours total which is kind of a long time - 7-10pm(thankfully we had no plans for after dinner). the service was quite slow but the food was good (sushi was very good). we did hibachi.. if you go with a larger party (8ppl) and can fill a whole hibachi table, you will probably enjoy it more but we were a couple sitting with 6 other strangers which is a bit much for a 3-hour experience. 2/19/2013 2:09:19 PM

Server was pleasant stretched too thin. When we arrived it was several minutesvbefore we were shown to a table, then probably 10 minutes until we were given menus. Our drink order was taken but it was another 5-10 minutes we got our waters and a glass of wine. 2/16/2013 3:21:53 PM

I've been to Robata many times and love their regular menu (especially the Dragon Roll!). Sometimes in the past service has been pretty slow, but I don't usually mind since I go with a friend and am not in a hurry. Unfortunately this past time, I went with 3 other adults and 2 children for hibachi. We'd made reservations for 6 pm and there were no other diners for hibachi when we arrived, but we still sat around with nothing but our drinks for an incredibly long time. Even the drinks took 15 minutes to come out. Needless to say, the kids were very grumpy with the wait. Like I said before, I love Robata's regular menu and have tried a large percentage of it. However, this was the first time I tried their hibachi and really was not impressed. Maybe it was just a fluke, but it tasted overly salty. I wouldn't recommend Robata if you're in a hurry or are looking for great hibachi. But if you're looking for sushi and don't mind socializing with your dinner companion while you wait, you'll enjoy yourself. 1/8/2013 8:10:10 AM
