We went to Ghazal for the first time on New Year's Eve. It wasn't very busy, the food and service were good, and the overall experience was quite pleasant. So we thought we'd try it again on Valentine's day. This time, the food wasn't as good and the service was poor. In fact, the people at the next table were complaining as well. I believe that the restaurant was much busier than usual and that the staff was unprepared for the volume and somewhat overwhelmed. We plan to try it again when it's not as busy to see if my theory is correct. 2/16/2013 7:30:15 PM

My date and I waited for about 20-25mins before the waiter seating us and taking our order. While waiting I had obeserved other patrons who seemed irate and noticeably upset with the lack of service. There were several parties that walked out because they had not received any service after being seated for about 15mins. Had a horrible experience on Valentines dine. Granted it was more crowded than usual, there were 4 servers and only one was seen doing anything. This was our third time there, second time under the new management. Did no receive bread. Server never refilled our water. Did not receive our drinks for 30 min at which point we had to flag a waiter down. One appetizer showed up before our drinks did and a second appetizer never showed up at all. The portions and food quality went down hill. The Tandoori grill used to be great, now there was very little meat and hardly veggies except for 2 chopped onions. The table next to us received the same poor service, and a third never got served for 30-40 min at all and just got up and left. 2/16/2013 1:21:57 AM

Unfortunately, neither of our main dishes were good - and they were dishes we normally loved. Too salty (saag paneer) and no flavor (cauliflower). Also, the restaurant was almost completely empty, but another couple was sat almost on top of us. The server even had to reach over them to serve us, and it was extremely awkward. A little privacy would be appreciated, especially with so much empty space. We weren't served the coffee/tea that came with the meal, either. 1/21/2013 8:55:40 AM

We got there on the later side (10pm), and though the restaurant says they are open to 11, they informed us (on a Saturday night) that the kitchen shut at 10:30 and so could we hurry to order. Fine, and our order came out very quickly and nice and hot. Very flavorful and otherwise good, though the beef korma was a bit tough and overcooked. Then at 5 of 11, while we were still eating, the waiter came over to remind us they were closing in 5 minutes, as if we needed to be out the door by then.
