Service was slow. It's not because it was crowded. There was only one other table of people at the time. The drink my husband ordered came without any ice and he said it tasted funny.

One of the last family owned Italian restaurants in the south Oakley district.... excellent food, very friendly owner, small intimate but informal restaurant. Overall furnishings ambiance is dated but compensated by the food and friendliness.

pleasant vintage sort of place. we were the only diners on a saturday night until we left about 9:30. looked in some other windows. nobody was busy. kind of sad. it took me many years to find the heart of italy, after my dad took me there as a teen. i remembered the dinner there, but didn't know where it was. as a teen, i found the area to be booming.

The service was good. Very friendly staff. Food was very good. Felt like i was in my grandmother's home for sunday dinner.

After 30 min. we were told that they were out of mussels and we had to order something else. The food took a long time.

I had gone to this restaurant many times but not in a few years. The food was not fresh, the salad and lemons were brown and I could not cut my eggplant with a steak knife. I know times are tough but this place should give it up if they can't keep a customer base where the kitchen can maintain fresh ingredients. Really depressing and bad. Nice server though.

Ordered a 7-7 for a cocktail and the cost was $8.00. OUTRAGEOUS!! Waited an hour for our meal!!!! Will not be going back there!!!!!
