this is the best ethnic restaurant in town...but in the changing neighborhood, not a lot of people any more. I've been going for yrs and will keep going as long as they're open. I go more than 3-4x yr but not monthly. Love it and love the service and the price and the FOOD!!

A customer seated us at a table where a nail file, toothpick and remote conrol were. She wiped the table and gave us menus. Food came out sporadicly.

only one server the owner so the service was not what you call great, but than again you have to weigh what type of place it is. We're not at Hyde Park

Marta's was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a small quaint setting and good homemade food. This was probably the best Chicken Paprikash I have ever eaten!

I go to Marta's for the traditional Czech food. All elese is secondary.

We loved the old time, home cooked atmosphere. Marta is lovely! Food was like mom and grandma used to make. Prices are reasonable.... this one will be a regular for us now!

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, customers sitting beside us, food, and the owners. A different type of dining experience well worth it. Looking forward to visit here again.

the portions were so large we had to doggy bag it

I was expecting a friendlier atmosphere and was disappointed with that. Also, for a place that calls itself "authentic", I was not too impressed with the food. The chicken noodle soup and the potato pancakes were very starchy; the goulash was very peppery and that was the only flavor that was present. I did enjoy the strudel. Another thing, I did not appreciate the 20% gratuity added to our check. I can see an automatic tip in some instances but, not for a party of two. Given that the service was just fair, I would only have left 15%.

It's like eating at home--but we didn't have to do the dishes. Food, atmosphere, service--all were terrific.

One woman show - Marta greeted you, sat you, gave you menu, then disappeared while she cooked others meals. Had to wait long time to ask questions and get a drink. Food so-so. Never going back.

marta was waitress and cook. she was so nice and friendly. we ate too much. really good homestyle food. brought so much home enough for two more meals,

The wait for our meals was longer than that of franchise restuarants but well worth it because the food was fresh and had that homemade taste. Also, the portions were just like my Mom used to give me.

Marta kept her kitchen open a bit late for us. We had some unique dishes including home-made soups and goulashes, and a fabulous fish fry with potato pancakes. I really appreciated her concern over my special dietary needs as well. We will definitely be going back.

Comment on the form: Nobody uses the Yellow Pages anymore. You didn't Internet of Google as a choice. In my case I found Marta's via a Google search.
