"MiMi's" Chips were an excellent starter. Something different a twist on nachos. The Philadelphia Pork Roast Sandwich was delicious also. The sliced pork was very tasty and tender. Great drink specials. 6/15/2013 6:11:36 PM
Our server was wonderful, the food was excellent, fresh, and tasted wonderful. 6/12/2013 4:05:09 PM
Everything we ordered was over cooked. The food was just not good. It was also expensive. I ordered chicken riggies (pasta mushy)my fiance ordered a burger (came well done-ordered medium)coffee was burnt, cheesecake had no flavor-tasted like sugar free. I was really disappointed since the bistro is so close to where we live. 6/11/2013 12:02:14 PM
Our server recommended the Red Neck Egg Rolls and the Deep Fried Moonpie! Great recommendations! As usual, the brisket is the best in Raleigh! 6/9/2013 6:15:14 PM
Service was rather slow even though there was no one in the restaurant. At one point I got up to get our server and let them know we were ready and they still did other things before coming to the table. The manager saw me and didn't ask if I needed anything. Our drinks sat in the service well for 10 minutes and were all watery. Another server went up and saw them 5 or 6 times but only got his tables drinks and ignored them. The server said the bartender was new which is why it took so long which was obviously not true. I work in the industry so I know there was no way they were THAT busy with two tables. 6/6/2013 4:04:01 PM
Waitress was awesome, very freindly. Made great suggestions. 6/6/2013 2:07:59 PM
Very good food and atmosphere. 6/3/2013 10:03:00 AM
The food was very good and the service was attentive and very accommodating. 6/2/2013 12:04:04 PM
chicken-spinach salad that was a daily special was excellent. should be on the menu. 5/30/2013 10:17:55 PM
Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable. The food was excellent! I had the Redneck Eggrolls and the Shrimp and Grits, both were awesome! 5/26/2013 8:01:02 AM
Great food and service. I traveled over 50 miles to try this place 5/23/2013 10:21:08 PM
Food was excellent. Friendly service. Will be back soon. 5/23/2013 12:01:51 PM
Fish tacos wrere superb! 5/20/2013 10:01:26 AM
Waitress forgot us and we had to get other staff to fill drinks and they mixed up the order, the hush puppies were overdone and they did make a fresh and better order, had to wait a long time for dessert to go and then they had to go get the bill. They were busy but it seemed like our waitress was the one having a hard time. Maybe she was new. 5/18/2013 8:30:56 PM
We had an impromptu get-together for a friends birthday. Our server, Krystal, was great and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend this place. 5/17/2013 8:07:55 PM
Great casual dining experience. Our server Lisa was very attentive and knew the menu well. The hostess was friendly and invited us back. We eat in many different restaurants in South Florida which is where we live so I can compare it to many and by far this is at the top of the list. 5/16/2013 10:17:58 PM
The steaks are very good and the bread is very good. (Angus Barn beef and LaFarm bread). I ordered the ribs which did not exactly "fall off the bone" as advertised. But the tots were crispy and the coleslaw was good. The pulled pork also was not as tender as it could have been. But basically, the food was pretty good and Anthony was a very attentive waiter. 5/13/2013 8:08:25 AM
great brisket 5/12/2013 12:22:04 AM
Desserts were excellent. Vegetables also were very good. Chicken in the chicken sandwich was predominantly fat -- obviously scraps that were trying to be used where they would not be noticed. 5/11/2013 12:12:32 AM
Good food. 5/7/2013 2:10:30 PM

Highlights

In honor of the nation's second-largest pork producing state, family-owned Backyard Bistro slowly cooks its award-winning BBQ for 12 hours, offering up a variety of homemade sauces for a culinary treat of mouth-melting proportions. If you're not in the mood for a North Carolina staple, try the St. Louis-style ribs or burgers aged daily by the butchers at the Angus Barn, topped with freshly baked buns from La Farm Bakery. The new menu also includes hearty appetizers (the boneless wings are awesome), soups, salads, more than a dozen sandwich choices and desserts, highlighted by a Southern classic - banana pudding. And the weekly specials are worth more than just a passing glance. Since opening in April 2009 across from the RBC Center, Backyard Bistro has quickly become the epicenter for Raleigh sports fans, coupled with a relaxing family atmosphere. The restaurant is home to Canes Corner and The Tom O'Brien Show, on-site, live hour-long radio shows that feature 10 different players from the Carolina Hurricanes and N.C. State football coach Tom O'Brien. Backyard Bistro also offers the Canes Room, a private function space for 70, and ample outside seating when the weather cooperates. Backyard Bistro, the Triangle's fastest growing caterer, has a fleet of flame-wrapped vehicles and grills to specialize in on-site, customized catering for just about any event (weddings, graduation parties, golf outings, tailgating) to any size. Backyard's "Big Rig" is equipped with four cookers, two deep fryers and hush puppy maker, and can accommodate up to 3,000 hungry souls.
