Restaurant Description
Bella Italia was opened in 1980 by Chef Carlo Croci and is the oldest Chef-owned restaurant in the area. From the earliest years Chef Carlo began to incorporate Exotic game meats into his cuisine. In Italy, wild game is a common ingredient in many dishes. His unique approach is from the perspective of taste as well as the health benefits. Most game meat is 60 to 75% lower in fat than beef. Game meats also offer textures and flavors that are not available in beef. Bella Italia was also the first restaurant in Texas to offer Ostrich on the menu.
More traditional dishes are also available at Bella Italia, including veal, lasagna, and many others. The full bar is also very diverse, because Chef Carlo strives to cater to his clientele. Bella Italia caters to people looking for a romantic evening or lunch offering exciting cuisine in an atmosphere that will make you feel as though you were transported to a trattoria deep inside Italy.
