It has a great atmosphere, the waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We most definitely plan on returning. The jazz band was also fun to listen to.

It is always a fun time at Black Eyes- had a 1 new item, but since we come a couple times a year would like to see a little more variety in the seafood area.

My chicken was still red inside, but everything else including the appetizers was good. Mojito could of been stronger, tasted like lemonade.

The only reason I rated it good and not excellent was because we had a little bit of a wait to be seated even though the place was not busy

The food is always amazing and they have the best bbq sauce. the fried chicken & steak was fantastic although i usually get the pulled pork platter which is delicious. i also adore their mac n cheese!!!

Black-eyed Sally's started out in 1995 as a tiny and fiercely independent BBQ and Blues joint. Over the next few years, folks took a likening to our cookin' so much that we had to expand twice in order to accommodate the crowds. We serve up award winning BBQ and Cajun cooking in a southern juke joint atmosphere.
Some of the awards we are most proud of are "Three Stars" from the Hartford Courant & Connecticut Magazine, The Hartford Advocate's "Best Of Hartford" and even a "Very Good" from the NY Times food critic. So grab some friends and come on down to taste some of the best cooking this side of the Mississippi.
Over the years Sally's has built a national reputation for bringing in some of the best recording artists on the blues circuit today. In fact Blues Reviews magazine rated Sally's as one of the best blues clubs in the USA.
For over 14 years, we have been Hartford's home of Jazz, Blues, Rock & Roots music. Many well known acts have graced our stage over the years. We've seen Larry Coryell, J. Geils, John Scofield, Lucky Peterson, Shemika Copeland and Ronnie Earl to just name a few. On occasion some really big names have dropped in to eat or jam at Sally's like Clarence Clemons, David Crosby, Graham Nash, the members of the Allman Brothers band, Dave Matthews and even the gang from American Idol.
