Highlights

In business since 1982, Cafe Espanol was bought in 2005 by brothers Pablo and Ignacio Manso, first-generation Spanish-Americans who grew up in Jackson Heights. Their menu features tapas, paella, parrillada (seafood plate), veal cutlets and a wide selection of Spanish wines. Local diners love their homemade sangria, and tapas fillings. Including chorizo, shrimp and octopus. The interior decor features generic stucco walls and paintings of fan-brandishing Spanish women. The atmosphere reaches for more of a cozy than chic feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by We really like this restaurant and feel very comfortable there. They did not have the garlic soup which I love so much so they made the effort to make it for me. Unfortunately this quick effort did not produce the usual awesome product, so they took it back. I really appreciated the effort. The goat cheese salad was great. Apr 15, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Food was ok, we ordered the fried shrimp and the mussels in garlic sauce as appetizers and they were great. For dinner my wife and I shared the seafood paella, which was the most expensive of the three options plus added chorizo sausage to it, we assumed it would have lobster in it as well but it did not and there were just a few pieces of chorizo even thought we paid extra for it. Ah well. Mar 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Wait staff should be assigned tables near each other. Our waiter was serving people far away from us and it was difficult to get his attention. This was no fault of his. He was polite and attentive when he came to our table. Mar 24, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely loud atmosphere. Food was ok . Mar 16, 2014
