Rated 2 out of 5 by Keaton S The entrees were mostly around $25, but were comparable to entrees at less well-known Italian restaurants for about $15; the water was served in plastic glasses, like in a pizza parlor! The food was good, but definitely not excellent. We had "Fettucine alla Pappasito", "Veal Piccata" and a cup of mushroom soup. The service was excellent. Our bill was $58 ($43 after the coupon), so I left a $10 tip. I visited this restaurant two years ago and I believe that the prices then were lower and the food better. Apr 18, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dale B I enjoyed the atmosphere of Casa di Amore and the staff was very attentive, constantly checking with me. However no amount of attentiveness could make up for the poor quality of steak I was served. I ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare, it was grilled properly but (and it's a BIG but) the quality of the meat was not very good, USDA Choice at best with very little flavor and I fought muscle sinew throughout the entire cut. You can find a better grade of meat at any chain grocery meat department. I never use A-1 steak sauce as a rule but in this case it was the only way to add flavor, the bread and vegetables were good. Rated 2 out of 5 by Shana W I was excited to have their vegetarian meatballs, but disappointed that the chef charged me extra for having them on a meatball sub--even though they were the same price as the regular meatballs on the menu. Even more disappointing was that the chef sent word that I was lucky that he would even make the substitution. He said if I would have requested veggie meatball substitutions during swing shift, he would not have done it.All of this is poor business practice to me. It's not about the $3. It's about the fact that both styles of meatballs were the same price on the menu and the bad customer service practices on the chef's end. How is it acceptable that he tell a customer that they are lucky he is willing to do a simple substitution? isn't that his job? Furthermore, the whole reason I started going to Casa di Amore was the manager/ owners invited me there specifically to try these vegetarian meatballs. Food is excellent, priorities not so much.
