Rated 1 out of 5 by They were understaffed - pleasant - but not very efficient. The Manhattan Chowder was pizza sauce - we each took one bite and didn't eat any more. My "baked oysters" were three quarter sized oysters on a plate for a dozen. So, so disappointing. Feb 23, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's a great historic place, since the 1800's but smells very musty and old.Portions of food smaller for the money you pay (dinner $25) but they're in downtown pdx where city/gov taxes are oppressive to small business people there Feb 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Atmosphere was a little dank, but the food was good. Jan 26, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by The restaurant has been in business since the early 1900's, one that everyone needs to experience as a Portland institution. Inside, the dining area looks like the hold of an old sailing ship. Plates on the walls are from all over the world, and lighted old photos show nautical Portland scenes. In the floor of the bar is a shanghai tunnel. The oysters are terrific, especially the grilled version. Jan 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by inside is a little dated and has a musty smell but the food was great and service was excellent fast hot tasted fresh Jan 7, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Slow service, expensive. Jan 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by We ordered steamed clams and regretted it. Should have gotten the oysters on the half shell. The clams were gritty and very bland. There were barely 2 dozen in a pound of clams. The steak was good and the prawns were excellent. We were there at the end of the day so perhaps that had something to do with it. Jan 1, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by We have been going annually for 35 years, and the quality of the food has gone down hill, while the pries have gone up. We keep coming back because it is a Christmas tradition, but this may have been our last time. Dec 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent service every time, whether it is the first time you visit the restaurant or your usual weekly one! Love the personal attention and the home style atmosphere. The bar is my favorite hangout with Destiny and Ashley!!! Great margaritas... Dec 28, 2014
