It was an unattractive space and had a musty smell.The waitress was apologetic about the food even before we ordered, saying that it was mainly a bar and directing us first to the expensive mixed drinks. I said that I would just have an iced tea, and she said that she was not sure that they had iced tea.(?! In summer in Tucson, iced tea is a staple food.) Eventually she found the iced tea, which proved to be one of the best things about our visit. She explained that some of the dishes which looked like main courses were smaller than usual. That was an understatement. I ordered a first course of a corn bisque soup, and that was excellent. What followed was not. I order the poached salmon; what I got was a main course of mashed potatoes garnished with a bit of salmon and a few pieces of asparagus.My husband had an expensive salad which was almost nothing and a flatiron steak. His also was a large plate of mashed potatoes with some steak on top of it. He was happy with his steak, however.I persuaded the waitress to substitute some extra asparagus for the mashed potatoes, as I do not eat them. She brought about 4 more pieces of asparagus and attempted to charge us $3.95 extra; I got her to take that off the tab. The tab was much higher than I had expected, and neither one of us got much to eat. It is probably as she said, primarily a place to drink. Jun 20, 2014
