The fried calamari appetizer was fishy tasting--never had that taste anywhere before and the waiter didn't care. Butternut squash ravioli was covered in so much oil that I couldn't eat it all. When we made the reservation, we asked for a table against a wall. We were seated at a table in the center of an almost empty restaurant right where the waiters all passed by. The owner(?) was very friendly with what seemed to be his regulars, but had nothing to say to us being from out of town.

Very Expensive. Everything was very good however this retaurant is way overpriced !
Lower the prices just a little and they would have way more business....

The food was overpriced for the quality. ALso when I requested a particular white wine, it was not in stock. The suggestion was made by the owner to order the next wine, which was $20 higher in price -the one I ordered was already $65. I said it was a bit pricey, and he informed me that one must pay more for a better wine. Really! That remark was condescending.

On this particular occasion, my wife and I brought in three friends. As usual, the service was wonderful and the food was superb. We will continue to bring friends here, because of the consistency of service, food quality, and friendliness. The fact that the people who work there tend to remember their customers is also good. I would recommend Gaetano's to anyone who appreciates the way restaurants are suppose to be. We will continue to dine at Gaetano's.

Overall experience was excellent. Great atmospshere, great service, great food, great specials. Our server was Carlos, he was awesome! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive. The pace of the entire meal was perfect. We ordered the venison and risotto special which my boyfriend absolutely loved. I ordered the chicken marsala, it was delicious. We also had salads specials, creme brule and tiramisu and cappuccinos for dessert all great. We eat out very frequently and this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. We will definitely be back. The only thing that initially irritated us was that guests who came in after us were seated before us. It seemed like they were regulars, it seemed like the have a lot of regulars which is understandable since they treat people well there.

food was fine and the service was fast. A negative was a mandatory gratuity in the amount of 20%. I have never heard of such a thing. That was pure, bait and switch.

After just four months, Gatano's was presented with a highly coveted and (usually reserved for the hotels) Epicurean Award for the "Best New Off Strip Restaurant of 2003" by the Las Vegas life Magazine. Many awards came in the years to follow, including "Best of Las Vegas 2007-Italian Restaurant" voted by the review Journal Newspaper Staff Writers, and then the 2008 ZAGET "Best 1000 Italian Restaurants in the United States
