1/1/2008 -- This Happi House location opened in the mid-70's. It offers Japanese-style fast food that beats every hamburger joint and taco palace I've ever been to -- for taste and quality and for a similar price. A typical meal consists of meat, rice (white or beef) and chicken salad, all for a little over $6 (higher for fancier combinations.) The staff is friendly and efficient, serving hot, freshly prepared food (cafeteria style or "to go") usually within 5 minutes or so. The common ingredient of their cooking style is what they call Happi Sauce -- a sweet teriyaki sauce that permeates almost all their dishes. If you like IT, you won't be disappointed. 6/12/2007 -- Happi House is a guilty pleasure of mine. I LOVE the chicken salad. Also, where else can you get beef flavored rice? I either get the #1 beef combo or the saimin, but really I just come here for the onion rings, salad and rice.
