Next Best Thing To a Thai Food Stand
A famous food critic once said that the most exquisite thing she had ever eaten cam from a small food stand in rural Thailand. The combination of exotic ingredients, exceptional preparation, and painstaking presentation make authentic Thai food one of the world's most memorable cuisines. And from those small food stands comes an entire generation of Thai chefs and restaurateurs who have emigrated to the U.S. to share their family's culinary skills. Kate Rattakool, new owner of Karakade Thai Cuisine in Redwood City learned to cook alongside her grandmother who ran a food stand in Yala, Thailand. Kate learned how the perfect combination of fresh ingredients such as lemon grass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves can create the balance of sweet, spicy and salty - the hallmarks of Thai cooking. Visit Karakade Thai Cuisine and let Kate prepare you a meal reminiscent of that Yala food stand. Karakade is located at 593 G Woodside Road at Central Avenue in Redwood City. Open for lunch Monday-Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., and daily for dinner 5-10 p.m. For more information, call 365-4079

Without a doubt, this place serves the best Thai food I've ever had.
I'm a long time yelp user, but until now, I hadn't been inspired by a restaurant experience enough to actually write a review myself. Karakade has changed all that.
I can't imagine a restaurant serving better Thai food. The service was excellent and the decor was tasteful, elegant, and hip. Don't go another day without karakade!
