There once was a whiskey maker named Sean Finnegan who had two sons. Ian, the eldest son, worked hard in his father's distillery, learning the craft of whiskey making in the hopes that he might inherit the business one day. The younger son, Kip, had no such ambition, preferring to spend his days roaming the streets of Dublin and his nights carousing in the pubs with his friends. Disheartened with his younger son's behavior and worried for his future, Finnegan booked a one-way passage for him on a merchant ship, hoping that Kip would return from his travels a wee bit wiser and ready to earn his keep. Kip spent five years traveling the world. Everywhere he went, he sought out the warm hospitality of the local drinking establishments. He was quick to make friends and spread good cheer, as only an Irishman can. When he reached America, Kip vowed to cross the entire land but made it only as far as Minnesota, where he met a lass with eyes so blue and hair so fair as to bring an end to his wild rover days. Kip's lass was named Molly and he vowed to love her until the end of his days. He wrote to his father and told him of his adventures, his bride-to-be, and his wish to open a pub where travelers would always be welcome to rest their weary feet, enjoy a good meal and warm hospitality, and raise a glass to their homeland. Sean Finnegan was delighted at the news that his son was finally ready to settle down - and in the whiskey trade, no less! He set out at once to find the perfect wedding gift and at last settled on the copper kieve that had stirred the mash for many a batch of his fine Irish whiskey. Today the kieve holds a place of honor above the bar in Kip's Pub, where you are welcome to raise a glass or a pint of ale and bend the barkeep's ear with tales of your own adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great as usual. Jul 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Waitstaff was very attentive and open. He asked, rather than making assumptions. Food was good, albeit a little salty. Jul 12, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Service was slow Jul 3, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by 8 of us ordered lunch at 12:05 on a weekday--less than 1/2 the tables were being used. Our sandwiches arrived at 12:55. One of our party had to return to work w/o lunch. 50 minutes was WAY too long to wait for a noon lunch. Jun 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our waitress was on top of our drinks and had all of our food delivered correctly to each person. There were 7 of us and we all loved the ambiance and service! Jun 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The food was very good. All four of us ate everything. The portions were good size but not too much. We ordered 2 deserts to go and ate those when we got home. Our server was very good....quick. Jun 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by The food was excellent. The beverages great. It took a little while for someone to wait on us. May 30, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Decor and food were equally matched in quality. Loved the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Live music the night we were there, solo acoustic guitarist, which was an unexpected treat. Kips is our new date night spot! May 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent service and atmosphere. Excellent variety on the menu. Tough choices which is a good thing. May 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is our second time at this restaurant. The food was MUCH better this time. Everyone in our party of 6 was happy with their meals. The wait staff was a little inattentive considering we were there at a very slow time, only a few other tables besides us. Biggest pet-peeve of mine is dirty dishes not being cleared from the table. Ours sat until after we left, I HATE that! No excuse when it is that slow. May 16, 2015
