Built in 1977, by Irishman Steve McFadden, the original McFadden's is on the corner of 42nd and 2nd Avenue, in New York City, just minutes from Times Square. Rated 3 out of 5 by Husband and I ordered there Surf & Turf (8oz fillet w/5 shrimp. Both of our steaks were ransid, and shrimp was not cooked all the way. Had to send back, and then ordered boneless wings and a chicken ceasar wrap. The wings were good, the wrap was okay. Had no flavor. The desert...chocolat brownie w/scoop ice cream taste very good. The drinks were good, but on expensive side. A 12oz draft $5.00 during happy hour..OMG I'd hate to see the real price. The Margarita on rocks was excellent.I have 2 more gift certificates for McFadden's and I will not go back nor would recommend this place to family or friends. Aug 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Food and service was terrible. Aug 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by There was no host to greet us and our server chastised us for sitting down without being seated by a host. We had to ask the bartender for our menus. Aug 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by We were the ONLY ones in the restaurant and it took double the time for our waitress to do anything. She handed us our bill and took 20 min before she came back to take our money.. But we were the only two people inside this place!! Saw many people walk in and walk right out because the hostess was to busy talking behind the bar. Plus the fries were over cooked and to hard to chew. Aug 14, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Out of several appetizers, food took long time to arrive, waitress could have been more attentive. Our drinks needed refilling. Aug 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Servers was slow to refill drinks; didn't check on our table to see if we need napkins or anything; slow to bring check and the restaurant was near empty. The food was terrible! Wings taste like the frozen kind; nachos taste like cheese whizz & melted cheese instead of nachos chesse; and the chicken that was in the nachos and in the quesadilla were extremely dry & nasty; and the guacamole was part brown & not fresh and did NOT taste appetizing at all. Rated 2 out of 5 by The service was pleasant and courteous but quite slow. The food was very good but I thought kind of pricey. I had to keep reminding myself that we were eating in a bar not just a restaurant. We were seated about 20 feet or so from a corner where radio station 910 AM was broadcasting live. Didn't offer much serenity. Also, although the bar/restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived, it was but a bit later when they seated another couple directly across from us, separated by a low narrow divider. That sure took away from having ANY privacy as we celebrated out 51st wedding anniversary. Would I recommend this establishment to others, I really don't think so and I doubt whether we will go back, with so many other fine dining places to choose from, especially in the immediate area. But, in all fairness, we left and felt we had had a good time. Might have something to do with how much we enjoy each other! Jul 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by The food wasn't very good and the servings were skimpy with french fries; cole slaw was a bowl of cabbage and had it returned and then got it correct the 2nd time. Water glasses had a weird stale taste. Jul 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by it was a slow night. one waitress who was also serving; one hostess; possibly a manager; and a cook in the restaurant. tables felt a little grimey and worn out. out of a few items right off the bat before ordering. Jul 30, 2014
