Restaurant Description
The history of Bowers and the Bowers Hotel dates back to 1752 when Michael Bower immigrated to America. From his 147 acre plantation grew the small country village of Bowers, nestled quietly between Allentown and Reading, Pennsylvania. Bowers Hotel still amasses a great deal of the original charm and character of the quaint country hotel that was originally established in 1820.
We know you will enjoy your visit to this country inn, which still retains its original hand-carved oak backboard and drawers, federal woodwork, gas lamps, world-class paintings, antiques and high ceilings. We look forward to your visit Tuesday through Sunday, open for lunch and dinner. Along with our regular menu, we do feature pasta night on Wednesday, Mexican night on Thursday, and delicious specials Friday through Sunday. “There is nothing contrived by a man by which so much happiness is produced as by a good tavern or country inn.”—Boswell, 1776.
