Located in the heart of Chicago's Loop where government, finance and a newly energized theater and nightlife scene intersect, 312 Chicago is a beacon of good food and good times, in a stylish setting. The food, by popular chef Dean Zanella, is Italian-inspired American cuisine. With a full-exhibition kitchen the restaurant's overall design and ambience recall elegance and class. The floor-to-ceiling windows, which define the restaurant's exterior on the corner of LaSalle and Randolph streets, draw people to the scene inside through a classic revolving door, straight into a theatrical mix of natural and soft light in the interior. The entry area, which is topped by a dramatic mica chandelier, is open to the restaurant's second tier. Guests reach the second level by a mahogany and brass staircase. From this level, guests may gaze out on the grand, classic, architecture of the City Hall/Cook County building, the modern James R. Thompson State of Illinois building, and a partial view of the skyline. Throughout the interior of 312 Chicago, seating is comfortable and tapestry-covered. Sunny colors mingle with delicious earth tones of burgundy, olive, teal, chocolate and ochre.
