Restaurant Description
The Barnwood Restaurant and Catering Service is located near the crossroads of Central California. It is in Ripon, just North of Modesto on Highway 99; near Interstate 5, 205, and 508; just minutes from the Highway 120 route to Yosemite. Comfortable and rustic- dark-wood, antiques, and etched glass windows add to the coziness of the booths in the main room. A wall-length rock fireplace is the focal point of the larger dining room. The restaurant seats 175. There are standard breakfasts from $4.95, as well as country fare for hearty appetites. For lunch you can choose from two-dozen deli sandwiches and a wide salad menu. Our dinner entrees consist of pasta, poultry, beef and seafood. Catering selections are unlimited, from national cuisines to barbecues to theme meals. The Barnwood caters more than 400 events each year, including costumed servers and decorations if the client wishes. Twice a month, John Mangelos prepares an elegant, reservations-only, "Dinner with the Winemaker." Guests enjoy five carefully prepared courses accompanied by the wines of a California Vintner, who personally offers commentary during the meal.
