Restaurant Description
Located in the heart of downtown Portland, Thirst Wine Bar & Bistro is 'A Breath of Fresh Air.' A fresh, approachable philosophy on wine; fresh, local ingredients for our food; and window-filled dining room and fabulous outdoor patio allowing you to breathe in fresh air while you enjoy the view.

Winner of Citysearch's 2006: "Best Waterfront Restaurant," "Most Romantic Bar" and Best Wine Bar," Thirst is only a short walk or Streetcar ride from some of downtown’s most notable attractions. It’s a perfect setting for a romantic meal before the theatre, the finale of a lovely walk along the RiverPlace Esplanade or day of shopping at Pioneer Square.

Thirst Wine Bar & Bistro is the ideal place to relax, sip wine, people watch, and take in the view of the Willamette river and gorgeous Mt. Hood while enjoying a respite from your fast-paced life.

Thirst offers the best reasonably priced, yet diverse and eclectic Pacific Northwest wines in Portland and some boutique / hard to find wines from California. There are 25 wines by the glass and 60 by the bottle. Thirst sells wine to go and wine-related gifts. The food menu is wine-friendly consisting of upscale appetizers & entrees, delicious sandwiches and homemade soups, artisinal cheeses, and charcuterie from Salumi. Thirst's focus is on high-quality local, organic ingredients and imported specialty items.

We want you to feel welcome and at ease. Our philosophy on wine is that we are ALL continually learning - we hope to learn from our customers! At center stage is our bar that’s built from reclaimed 12-foot French oak vats. We hope by being conscientious about our environment, it will make a difference and bring us all back to simpler times.
