Restaurant Description
Francesco Fortuna left Rieti, Italy in 1921 at the age of 26 to seek his fortune in America. He was a barber in Italy having once trimmed the head of the Pope, and he worked as a barber in Niagara Falls during the week. On Sundays he worked as a cook for weddings.
Francesco met Clementina in America. They married, and together they cooked.
Francesco's uncle was an acclaimed chef in Rome and in 1945 Francesco having trained under his uncle became a chef in his own restaurant in Niagara Falls.
From 1945 until today, his recipes and culinary skills have been passed down through two succeeding generations. His sauce is made the same today as he learned to make it from his uncle in Rieti.
The Fortuna family prepares all its food fresh and as ordered. No preservatives or artificial starters are used. Raviolis and Gnocchis are hand made. The salad dressing is a guarded recipe.
The Fortuna's Italian Cuisine is prepared with pride. If you like it, let the third generation of Fortunas know.
