Restaurant Description
Picanha Churrascaria uses a rich blend of traditions from European immigrants and Brazilian natives. An important element of this culture is churrasco, the Brazilian word for barbecue, which describes a 500 year old culinary tradition that originated in the pampas, or prairie ranchlands of Brazil. In the churrasco tradition, guanchos, Brazilian cowboys, barbecue marinated beef, pork and poultry on long skewers over an open-fire pit. The guancho way of roasting meats over pits of open fire for delicious barbecues was always present at every festive occasion, especially family gatherings. The young boys would learn how to grill the meats the guancho way from their fathers, becoming the caretakers of a culinary tradition passed down from generation to generation for over three centuries. Picanha embraces these traditions and passes them onto you with great care and a dedication to quality and service.
