The Huntington Street Café has been serving Shelton and surroundings for nearly a decade with standout food, drinks and live entertainment. Under new ownership by Peter Vouras, the café has a revamped menu and an energized outlook. "There was so much that was already fantastic and well-loved about the café," Peter says, "from its interior warmth and independent vibe to the quality of the food, that we didn't need to make major changes. But while we celebrate and host all types of music, we've shifted from an emphasis on classic rock in our décor and menu to modern rock, from underground punk, new wave and alternative roots through the present day, because the present is a very exciting moment. It's a challenging time in many ways, but it's during times like these that people, especially our fellow New Englanders, are at their best and most resourceful. Growth happens in new directions. Ideas bloom. Much amazing music is being composed and shared through technologies we barely dreamt of years ago. And traditionally a café is an inviting, familiar place where people come to connect, share a meal and news of the day, and also to encounter new friends, new ideas, new music. The café is a bridge from the best of the past to the excitement and potential of the new. And we have an amazing community in which to serve as that bridge. I literally love coming in and opening the door every day."
