Extremely casual and comfortable, great selection of beers on tap, and excellent ribs. I enjoyed the 2X2X2 a combo of beef, pork and spare ribs, the ribs were so meaty I took half the order home. The restaurant is small about 10 tables and dining at the bar about another 12 seats. Go early, weekends around 7pm would most likely have you waiting in line out front. ENJOY! 5/19/2013 4:05:19 PM
The staff was very attentive, and we were checked on periodically. 5/18/2013 6:07:42 PM

Always impressed with the food. Had the burnt ends (brisket) YUM! Prefer the creamy cole slaw to the vinegar, like the added bell pepper. 5/8/2013 6:07:34 PM
ENORMOUS servings of excellent BBQ. Not a place for dieting. 5/6/2013 12:29:21 PM
Our waitress was horrible and rude. The other workers were all very nice except for the waitress who seated us and took our order. 4/29/2013 12:07:18 AM
Incorrect prices were listed on the restaurant.com menu. It took 3 servers to process my carry-out order. First two were rude. The last one was knowledgable with the restaurant.com process. 4/21/2013 4:13:15 AM
Food is always great. Brisket was especially tender today. Jackie always serves with a smile :} 4/18/2013 4:12:06 PM
I like the food but felt extra charges were not mentioned so bill was higher than I would have like. Disappointed she didn't mention and took advantage of us 4/12/2013 12:15:12 AM
Nice, casual place for good bbq. Great alternative for Phillipe's and the Olvera. 4/10/2013 12:02:21 PM

French fries are awesome! 3/9/2013 12:20:11 AM
Great food. I got a rib platter and my friend ordered mixed meat. I tasted some of hers and loved the pulled pork best. 3/7/2013 2:17:19 AM
Wednesday. 12pm. Every chair and barstool was taken. Host said it would be a five minute wait so I grabbed a menu and headed outside. It truly did take less than 5 minutes which was fantastic as I was on jury duty at the nearby criminal building. The Smokehouse is a short 10 minute walk. I met my father and we decided on a full rack of ribs with the sauce on the side. Glad that this type of BBQ allows for that. We had the pork ribs as they are the most tender. Enjoyed the baked beans and grilled vegetables on the side. My father loves this place as do I. 3/1/2013 6:07:06 PM
I ordered fries for a side order and got a double order of cole slaw. Not happy. 2/27/2013 4:06:44 PM
They were very polite and attentive 2/26/2013 12:09:49 PM

Highlights

Spring Street Smokehouse, the hole-in-wall, no-frills restaurant at the southern edge of Chinatown in Downtown Los Angeles has turned into a lunchtime must-have among scores of downtown workers, firefighters and police officers.

Spring Street Smokehouse is an American Bar-B-Que joint offering all the classic barbecue meats, hickory-smoked from four to 18 hours. The meat is wonderfully dense and smoky and includes all the favorites youd expect: beef and pork ribs, Texas hot links & brisket. The down-home sides of greens, beans and cornbread round out a truly authentic BBQ experience. Spring Street also features some surprises, the most intriguing of which is the chicken breast stuffed with sliced jalapeos, onions, and cheese, then wrapped with bacon and pit-smoked.

With Los Angelenos starving for truly good comfort food, the Spring Street Smokehouse phenomenon has not gone unnoticed. Spring Street Smokehouse has been recognized by all of the major Los Angeles newspaper, magazine and television programs. Check out our reviews page to read all the excitement!
