Loved my choice but can't understand why they were out of oysters since we were one of the first 5 customers. Waiter was very friendly and enjoyed his conversation.

Our order was incorrect, we asked for napkins which were never brought to us and the server never brought our round of drinks after she told us they were on the way.

I have a had a couple of other experiences at Marigny Brasserie during dinner hours and I felt as if the restaurant could never disappoint. Going there one day during lunch however, I realized I was wrong. The food was subpar and no where near the quality of their dinners I had eaten before. The meatloaf I had looked and tasted like a store bought meal and overall I just wasn't pleased.

We looked at the online menu of the restaurant before we purchased a certificate. At the restaurant the menu item we wanted was not available and the food prices were significantly higher.

Food was ok. Not fabulous, not horrible. Portions were reasonable, not too much or too little. Prices a little high for the quality of food. Our waiter was new and inexperienced, but made up for that by trying very hard. We went at lunch, and the place only had 2-3 other tables filled. Lunch took about 25 mins to get to us, a bit long considering the amount of other diners. I don't know if this place is new and finding their feet or is always this way. We might try this place again in a year or so if it is still there to see if it got better.

The problem was I sat down at 7:30 did'nt get my food untit after 8:30 then it was wrong when the ticket came it was wrong it took over 2 hrs for this when the places was'nt over busy nor where they short of help! Then food was fine.

The seating was prompt, but the temperature in the dining room was chilly. The server, Big Red, was welcoming and informative- very well versed in the menu.

The waitress told me that there was a former chef in the kitchen, and I could really tell. The food was not good at all, I usually can't wait for there food, but there was a significant difference this time. The green tomatoes batter was thick and not cooked well, the shrimp were tiny, the shrimp and grits was not good at all, I had to send it back, the grits was watery and out of a box, they usually have stone ground grits, and burger was missing the bacon I ordered and never corrected. I was really disappointed with this dinner.

The appetizer and cocktails were lovely, but the sandwiches were unseasoned, bland, and left a lot to be desired. Also, we were never asked what side we wanted.

We have been going to this restauruant for years. They are constantly changing the menu and it is somewhat frustrating. Also, the prices seem to have increased dramatically over the past year. That being said, the pulled pork sliders were great. The grilled cheese sandwich, however, did not come with tomato, avacado, or pickled vegetables, as advertised on the menu. Because we were using a coupon, we felt limited in our ability to complain about this.

The ribs were extremely fatty and the mashed potatoes lumpy & tasteless. Outer sides of grilled cheese were soaked in butter. The beignets & mac & cheese were good. Service was slow but owner was attentive..
