Ate at the bar had great service from both bartenders and both meals were excellent. Chowder is among the best in the city

Three people in my party ordered the fish tacos. They were too spicy and almost impossible to eat. Maybe if they used less pepper on the fish one could actually finish the tacos without burning your mouth and stomach and could taste some of the fish flavor.
Service was ok. Waiter was the bartender too so he had to share tasks. As the bar got busier we had to wait a long time for him. Also when asked for lime he said no since the picked cabbage was already sour. Maybe he could offer a suggestion but still bring the lime if the customer wants it?

I went there for my birthday and the ambiance was very nice.We waited so long for the food to come in our table.The plates were expensive and the food was nothing to brag about it.

Very professional service staff, sometimes a little too much lag time between courses but otherwise we really enjoy the food and environment.

The prices are high but the food is home made, even the soup crackers. I just wish they wouldn't charge $4 for a soda. Service is excellent. Staff is bright and positive. They enjoy their jobs. Lots of staff to pour water, take your dishes away. Service is excellent. Home made break basket and white crackers are so fresh and delicious.

I believe that the clam chowder may actually be THE BEST IN BOSTON. The bread basket was particularly interesting as it contained three varieties of bread: large matzohs, raisin bread and french bread. Our meals were excellent: stuffed shrimp and scallop appetizer dish. The expresso was also quite strong and bitter--which is the way I PREFER it.

The food was too little for too much money. The dish we had was advertised as being "$40 for 2" but the amount of food on the plate would have fed 1.5 people, not 2. If you go away feeling half hungry, that's what it felt like.

Fish in bouillabaisse was not good...quantity of seafood as well in the dish was very scant. Not worth $34 price. Calamari was cooked well; but, too much breading and much too greasy. Salmon entree was good.

Nice quiet relaxing atmosphere! The Cobb salad was excellent with large chunks of lobster and crab and the clam chowder was superb!

Atmosphere really nice. Food good. It's upscale. Good for businessmen and meetings. Prices were high even with a restaurant.com coupon.

They sat us in the dark, dingy area while it seemed everyone else was seated in the bright atrium.

The atmosphere was classic and comfortable. I enjoyed my view while seated at the large windowed area overlooking the street and I noted that the table and chairs were also very comfortable. The restaurant and rest rooms were spotless and smelled good. The servers were attentive. I appreciated that my water glass was refilled promptly, (3 times) and that the people and the place itself had a real good vibe. Oh and the chowder was one of the best I've ever had and so was the Boston cream pie. I would go back and bring others with me this time! A good example of a well done restaurant that's a rare find these day!

Food was delicious, generous servings, well presented, special requests like to add avocado and for bread were made without a fuss and the charge for the added avocado was very reasonable. The menu has a wide variety of selections for a range of prices and types of food. The food was cooked to perfection

Bread and butter was warm and delicious. crabcake and shrimp cocktail outstanding and entrees perfect in every way.

The waiter/bartender was not very friendly. The prices were high and when we gave them the certificate we got a little attitude. The food was good.

The atmosphere was inviting. Our waiters were attentive. The lady who delivered our meal left us and came back 2 to 3 minutes later and asked us if we were enjoying our meal. I had a question about the Taylor Bay Scallops that I had ordered that didn't taste like any scallops I had ever eaten. I did not like the taste and was sure they were not really scallops. She explained to us about the origin of the scallops and they would taste less pungent if we removed all the covering of the white scallop. This certainly made a difference but left me with a scallop the size of a chickpea.

7pm Wednesday night, No reservation, restaurant was not busy, half full, but still tell us there is a 30 minutes wait. There were enough waitstaff to wait on us, no sure why the wait? We went to the bar for dinner instead, waited 10 more minutes before the bartender came over with menu. We order apptz, that was good, and dinners after. Dinners took 45 minutes to arrive, Bartender came by 30 minutes before and told us sorry, the kitchen very busy, it will be another 15 minutes. It was not that busy. Service was slow all around, never came by and asked how was everything.
Food was good, but not worth the price, menu also limited, good apptz. but dinner was limited.
