When I made the reservation, I was asked if special occasion 0 it was my daughters college graduation celebration - When we went for dinner 0- no mention nor congratulations. It would have been nice to be acknowledged. Thought at the price for dinner a dessert would have been offered for her.

The food was great and atmosphere is relatively relaxing. Unfortunately our waiter was rather inattentive. Would have ordered more wine if he had returned earlier in the meal. Given that our meals were high dollar menu items, I was rather surprised at how dismissive the waiter was.

It took about 5 min for the waiter to take are drinks and 10 min for him to come get our order for food. The waiter only checked on us 2 and was very slow to fill our drinks. When we were done it took 20 min for us to get our waiters attention so we could pay and go. As walking out there was 2 young ladies up at the front talking and did not say anything to us as we were leaving. The food was amazing.

Food was outstanding. Our server was not. He was terse and did not communicate well. His description of the specials was not special at all. He was late getting to the table and did not come back very often. Did not like him at all.

The setting was great, we sat outside and it was very nice. we had a great server that gave us plenty of attention. The food was fantastic, we will definately return.

We have gone to VaBene periodically over the past 12 years. We have always liked the food, atmosphere and service. This was our first visit in a while and we were somewhat disappointed in the quality of the food - not as flavorful as we remember it being in the past. After telling our dinner guests (firsttimers)about how great the food and service was, neither totally lived up to our expectations. We will not be in a hurry to return because there are many other choices for Italian food.

only interaction with server was when order was placed and he was quick to give us our bill. did not ask if we wanted some more. Host was very rude and stuck up, gave us the impression that we were bothering her. overall, i will not go back and/or recommend this restaurant.
