we are seated right away. Our server, Mary, was great! She knew the items on the menu and was able to offer suggestions.

The service was great but the food was not what it used to be. My husband's dish looked like left over food that had been sitting for a couple of hours and tasted that way as well. We always loved the Southern fare at your restaurant but were very disappointed this time.

Nice atmosphere, enjoyed a booth to carry on a conversation, food was good, fried chicken liver appetizer had too much breading and fried too hard, but edible. Fried oyster salad lacked flavor. Will just pick something else next time.

Waitress was not enthusiastic. Came late with complimentary cornbread. Also, a tip should not be automatically included with a table of three people. That was poor taste.

Food not as good as expected. a la mode dessert had very small amt ice cream and hard crust. Had less than 1 new potato with green beans. Wedge salad had core in it.

Whole restaurant was in a panic because of a big party...that had a reservation. The manager actually suspended all seating from 12:15 to 1:00. We got there at noon and the big party was already seated. Bad planning and very poorly handled. People walked out and many were turned away. We waited 45 minutes on our food and then it was cold. Did not even bother complaining.

We had breakfast and it was perfect. Every item was well prepared and the atmosphere was great.

Atmosphere was stale. The hostess turned down many people without reservations but took others. There were at least 10 tables that were empty the whole time we were there, even seats available at the bar. No signature dish, food was bland, egg shells in cornbread. There really wasn't anything that would bring me back there. There are so many great restaurants in Charleston, this isn't worth the time.

They rushed us too much. Entree's were served when we'd hardly started our salad.

The She-Crab soup was very good - one of the best I've had in Charleston. The spinach and fried oyster salad would have been great except that the oysters were too small and too bready (had to send some back).

Long wait time for server and food. Waitress could have been more attentive and interested in us as customers. when the food finally arrived it was very good but no so good as to make up for the very long wait and uncaring wait staff.

The food was good, but our service was poor. The appetizer was cold by the time we received it. Refills on water were few. Our waitress was also the bartender, and she spent more time there than waiting on us.

Soup was not warm; service was extremely slow, and not very hot when it arrived. We have eaten there before, and it was not as good this last time.

Our meals were beautifully prepared with lovely flavoring. Portion size was good and the addition of broccoli corn bread as the bread was a pleasant surprise.

It was great. The only issue was that they have gone to a Brunch menu on the weekends. I would rather have the full menu on Saturday.
