Overall the menu and food was fine. I had a clam chowder appetizer that I didn't enjoy (too bland), but the waiter removed in graciously from the tab. Service was excellent, other food dishes were excellent too. We will return again.

"The owner guy" is simply great at his food and service; truly a make it work with skill, hard work, and a smile. The chef has the talent to keep his head down and get it done right, very nice food every time.

Restaurant seemed short on staff that night and the service was a bit slow, one of the entrees, pork chop was very dry, other entrees were good. Had to remind the server about milk and french fry order for the toddler that was missed. Pork chop came out considerably later than other entrees

Very good food and excellent service, mostly from Mario himself. A huge improvement in both food and service from the predecessor "Zinfandel" at this location.

We don't often dine at Zinfandel restaurant because it's located right in our community. But we had the coupon so decided to take advantage of it. We have eaten there often in the past and it has always been excellent. Good food, well prepared and terrific attention by the host/waiter.

No atmosphere, not enough menu choices. Staff walked around like they weren't sure what to do. Evidently only the owner can serve everyone in the restaurant, not the others walking around only filling water glasses.

The restaurant atmosphere is warm and quiet. The lights above the tables against the windows were too bright. Two tables complained about that. We moved over to the table/booth where the lights are dimmer. Mario was serving the whole restaurant. Very nice and recommend a nice wine. Menu has plenty to choose from. We had the carpaccio and mushroom salade for an appetizer. Great portion on the salade carpaccio was ok a little lacking in flavor. I ordered the Thai chicken pizza but when I got it in was not what the menu said. Mario told me that they no longer use those ingredients. Should make site their menu is up to date. My husband ordered the prosciutto calzone. Good of had a little more flavor as well.

A bit of confusion regarding the certificate. we were there for lunch , but were told it was supposed to be for dinner. Nevertheless it was honored graciously. Pleasant meal. Yummy food. Adequate service. Good value with the certificate but a bit pricey without. I am from socal but when I am up again in a few months I will be back.

Highlights
The zinfandel grape, first planted in California in the late 1800s by Italian immigrants, are the genetic equivalent to the primativo grape in Puglia, Italy. Primativo wines are deeply colored, and intensely flavored, with a high alcohol content. It's California cousins, Zinfandels, are some of California's finest, most interesting and most widely planted wines.
It is in the spirit and proud tradition of Zinfandel wine producers that we named our restaurant Zinfandel California Cuisine. We're a fairly small and cozy cafe-style restaurant which is open six days a week for lunch and dinner. And we have a full bar as well as a nice variety of wines.
We offer a generous selection of freshly prepared menu items, including: soups and salads, wood-fired pizzas and calzones, sandwiches, burgers, fish, chicken, meats, pastas and desserts.
We invite you to visit our establishment which is conveniently located in Gold River. Weather permitting you may dine on the patio, and we can handle small, private parties. To-go orders are welcome. Reservations on Friday and Saturday nights are advised.
