I had a truly upsetting and humiliating experience at Subway that left me feeling fat-shamed and disrespected. After I asked for mayo on my sandwich, the worker refused, saying it would be “too many calories.” I was absolutely shocked. It’s my sandwich, my choice—who are they to decide what I can and can’t eat? When I asked to speak to a manager, the worker flat-out refused to give me any information and even went as far as to say the manager would have “told me the same thing.” This was not only incredibly unprofessional but also degrading. I walked out feeling judged and completely disrespected. I expect better from a place that’s supposed to let you customize your meal how *you* want it. I won’t be coming back. My advice to the franchise owner is to fire that ignorant man (and I guess the store manager too given they share the same sentiment) giving out dietary advice to women while he's supposed to simply be building their sandwich. UNBELIEVABLE.
